Accreditation Process
How America's Top 10% Roofing Contractors Earn ARCO Accreditation.
Overview
The ARCO Accreditation isn't bought. It's earned. Every contractor that earns the ARCO Seal of Excellence has passed a rigorous, multi-step evaluation verifying their reputation, legal standing, craftsmanship, and integrity.
Our goal is to identify and celebrate the top 10% of roofing contractors across America. These are the contractors who meet or exceed the industry's highest standards for quality, safety, and customer trust.
Step‑by‑Step Accreditation Process
To qualify for ARCO Accreditation, contractors must meet or exceed all seven standards. Each item is independently reviewed and verified by the ARCO Accreditation Team.
Application Submission
Contractors begin by submitting the ARCO Accreditation Application, which collects essential business details: including ownership, licensing, and service area. This step establishes transparency and verifies the company operates legally and professionally.
License & Insurance Verification
Our compliance team independently verifies all state licenses, workers' compensation, and general liability coverage. Contractors must meet or exceed local and state requirements to ensure full legal compliance and homeowner protection.
Reputation & Reference Screening
ARCO contacts recent customers and supplier references to confirm reliability, professionalism, and satisfaction. We also evaluate online reviews, complaint histories, and standing with state consumer agencies and the BBB.
Legal & Background Review
A nationwide business background check is conducted to screen for lawsuits, liens, judgments, or disciplinary actions. Only contractors with clean records and ethical histories advance.
Quality & Workmanship Review
Our inspectors or third-party verifiers review recent project photos, material selections, and workmanship standards to ensure consistency with ARCO's Quality Code. They focus on safety, craftsmanship, and aesthetic excellence.
Interview & Code of Ethics Agreement
Company owners participate in a brief interview and must formally agree to the ARCO Code of Ethics, which outlines expectations for honesty, safety, workmanship, and customer care.
Final Approval & Seal Award
Once all verifications are complete, ARCO's review committee conducts a final assessment. Approved contractors receive the ARCO Seal of Excellence, inclusion in the National Registry of Accredited Roofing Contractors, and access to exclusive member benefits and marketing assets.
Maintaining Accreditation
Accredited contractors must renew annually. Each renewal includes re‑verification of licenses, insurance, and reputation to ensure ongoing compliance with ARCO standards. Contractors who fall below ARCO's benchmarks risk suspension or removal from the program.
