ARCO Review Findings
DeHart Roofing & Home Repair is highly regarded for its professional, responsive, and timely service, with customers frequently praising the team’s skilled workmanship and thorough cleanup of job sites. Owner James is consistently highlighted for his clear communication and personal commitment to ensuring projects are completed to a high standard.
I hired DeHart Roofing & Home Repair for a roof inspection and repair and was extremely happy with the experience. Top 3 things I loved: 1) Lightning fast response and timely completion of the work 2) Professional crew who kept the job site spotless and respected my home 3) Very reasonable pricing that gave great value for the service.
After Hurricane Beryl damaged our roof, DeHart Roofing was quick to respond. They put up a temporary tarp, worked with our insurance and put on a beautiful new roof. The work crew was respectful and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Highly recommend.
Before getting to the detailed review, I want to make it clear that we are grateful we chose DeHart for our roof/home repairs, primarily because of the effort the owner, James, put into making sure the work turned out right. Scheduling an appointment was easy, though we jacked James and his crew around a bit due to some turbulence in our own schedule. He was flexible with us and came when we needed him. The group of men who replaced the roof were highly skilled. They did an exceptional job and, after a couple heavy rains, we have yet to see any leaks. So far so good. Additionally, they mended some rotten sections of the roof and some fascia boards, as well as removed a rotting exposed rafter area which was purely decorative. They chopped the boards, removed the axial support member, dropped the brick column, capped the exposed ends of the cut boards, and installed new paneling to close it all up and make it look real nice. At this point, everything has gone smoothly. James stopped in a couple times to check on progress, as well as one final walkthrough when it was complete. Professional throughout. We did encounter a rough patch with getting the newly installed paneling caulked and painted. The individual who came out a few days after the general construction was complete did a sub-standard job with the caulking and painting. The bead was rough, screw heads and seams were still visible, and paint drips were all over the front walk, as well as a few large splotches of paint from where the roller contacted bricks adjacent to the paneling being painted. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the work to the owner, James. He was tied in to another project at the time, so he came out a few days after the caulking/painting were complete. He agreed the work was substandard and did his best to improve the caulk bead where he could, fill additional gaps, and paint the remaining unpainted fascia boards. This work was of much higher quality. Unfortunately, he ran out of time and had to postpone his work to today (11/13/19). Today, he came out with a pressure washer and some quarter round. He chemically cleaned and pressure-washed the affected brick and entire entryway area, removing almost all paint splotches (those remaining are trivial). The final product is of high quality, and it's because James took matters into his own hands and saw that the final little detail work was done the right way. Additionally, his "gutter guy" came out and performed a pristine gutter install. Seriously, it's solid as a rock and looks top notch. We're very pleased. After speaking with James, it sounds as though the caulking/painting issues are a fluke and corrective action has been taken. We're grateful for his patience and constant efforts to make sure we were satisfied with our new roof. I highly recommend DeHart roofing. As a final note, I do small-scale woodworking projects. I will never replace a roof, and I wasn't game for tackling our rotting entry-way beams. Mistakes were made throughout the process of removing and replacing the roof and buttoning up the final product, but mistakes will always happen. While we weren't happy when the mistakes mentioned above occurred, James was quick to step in and fix things. Thanks DeHart. I will snap pictures tomorrow of the final product and post them to this review. Those below are just interim pictures (pre-final caulking/painting/gutter install). Wouldn't do the work justice if I took a pictures at night.
James did a roof rejuvenation for us in Richmond Tx., Great price, great guy's, professional all the way, would highly recommend them.
JD and his team did a fantastic job. Everything was done completely, on time, and my yard was left clean. These seem like small things, but when you have people work on your house, the little things go along way. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I would work with them again, but my roof is so good, it will be along time before I need to. Thanks DeHart Roofing!
Review data aggregated from public sources · ARCO does not moderate third-party reviews
The difference between "good enough" and proven excellence. Only the top roofers in America earn ARCO Accreditation — recognition of true craftsmanship, ethics, and integrity.
Peace of Mind: Every ARCO-Accredited roofer has been checked against public licensing records, safety records, complaint history, and verified customer reviews.
Work You Can Trust: ARCO's evaluation includes manufacturer certification programs — credentials that can help preserve your roof's warranty coverage.
Verified, Not Self-Reported: ARCO's findings come from government and third-party sources — state filing offices, SAM.gov, OSHA, and the BBB — not from paperwork a contractor submits about itself.
A Public Paper Trail: Every accredited profile publishes its report number, evaluation date, and sources — so any homeowner can independently verify the findings at RoofingContractors.org.
